<p>So what follows are the links to 2 celebrity workout articles, along with what I believe are important quotes from the articles and my comments on what I think you should take away from these articles. OK? Okay let&#8217;s go.</p>

<p>&#8220;<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Brad&#8217;s diet is the most important aspect when it comes to getting him in shape for a role. Don&#8217;t just think he trains hard in the gym, his diet accounts for much of his success in achieving the physique produces</span>.</p>
<p>For his <em>Fight Club</em> role Pitt took on a very strict and consistent diet eating six small meals a day which included a Whey Protein Powder and on occasion some protein bars, no other supplements were used by Pitt, however much of his nutrition came from whole foods high in protein like Chicken, Turkey, Fish, Lean Meat, Eggs and Cottage Cheese.</p>
<p>Carbohydrates were very clean and included Wholewheats and Grains, Green Vegetables, Oats and Rice Cakes, which were then tapered off in his last two meals of the day.&#8221;</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">My comment</span>: Most guys looking to achieve Brad Pitt&#8217;s&#8217;<em> Fight Club</em> look focus only on the workout aspect of the program detailed in this article. In doing so they fly right by <strong>THE most important aspect of the whole program, which is the strict diet Brad used to get his hard gainer&#8217;s body leaner and more muscled.</strong></p>
<p>What you need to take away from this is that <strong>your nutrition + your workouts = your six pack abs results. </strong>Nutrition fuels your body and your workout.<strong> You can&#8217;t give your body junk and expect to develop ripped abs with a great workout plan. </strong>Sure you&#8217;ll get results, but they won&#8217;t be what they could have been if you had the proper diet plan. Don&#8217;t make that mistake.</p>

<p>2.  <a title="How Will Smith That Lean, Muscled Look For 'I Am Legend'" href="http://www.howcelebritiesloseweight.com/will-smith-i-am-legend-weight-loss/" target="_blank">Will Smith&#8217;s  &#8216;I Am Legend&#8217; Weight Loss Program</a></p>
<p>&#8220;When you get on the treadmill you deprive yourself of oxygen. What kind of person you are will come out very, very quickly. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">You’re either the type of person who will say you’re going to run three miles or you stop the treadmill at 2.94 and you hit it and you call 2.94 3 miles, or you get off after a mile, or you’re the type of person that runs hard through the finish line and when you get to 3.0 you realize, ‘God, I could really do 5,’ and you go ahead and do two more</span>.</p>
<p>And that little person talks to you and says, ‘Man, do you feel our knee? We should stop. I feel we should stop ourselves right now. This is not healthy anymore.’ When you learn to get command over that person on that treadmill, you learn to get command over that person in your life.&#8221;</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">My comment</span>: Will Smith has an unbelievable work ethic that carries over to his attitude about staying fit and that helped him get that very lean muscled look in &#8216;I Am Legend&#8217;. Following his fitness routine might prove a little difficult (to say the least) for regular guys with a career, a family and a social life.</p>
<p>But here&#8217;s what you take away from Big Willie and apply it to your get six pack abs quest: while having the right nutrition and good exercise program are what&#8217;s physically needed to get them, <strong>you MUST develop that seriously strong motivation and mental toughness to do what&#8217;s needed (day in &amp; day out) to get the results you&#8217;re after</strong>.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re going to need it to power through your workout routine after a looong day at work (or to be at your gym at 6 AM), or to cap off your interval training with an intense 20 minute jump rope routine or to say &#8216;no&#8217; to beer &amp; pizza with your buddies on Friday evening in order to stick to your nutrition plan.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">One more thing</span>: once you get in shape, do everything humanly possible to maintain that level of fitness. I say &#8216;humanly possible&#8217; because I know from personal experience there are things in life that can throw a monkey wrench in your workout program &#8211; birth of a child, a long term illness or a job relocation to name a few. When things get back to normal, your motivation and mental toughness will help you get back in shape through your six pack abs diet and workout.</p>
<p><strong>If you focus on developing a strong motivation to accomplish your goal, the mental toughness to follow through and a good diet plan, I believe you will have 85 &#8211; 90 percent of what you need to get six pack abs</strong>. Your specific workout program will make up the remaining 10 &#8211; 15 percent.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I write a lot about how to use nutrition to get lean enough to have visible abs and how to workout to get six pack abs.</p>
<p>I enjoy sharing information that I&#8217;ve gained from my own experiences and the things I&#8217;ve learned over the years from bodybuilders, trainers, nutritionists, other fitness bloggers and the buff guy down the street.  It just does me a lot of good &#8212; and I hope you&#8217;re reaping the rewards from putting this information to use.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s why I&#8217;m writing today&#8217;s post.  Because I want you to use it and make your life better.</p>
<p><strong>Having Six Pack Abs Are Sexy But</strong></p>

<p>Make no mistake about it &#8230; flat, visible toned abs are SEXY and project an image of being very healthy.  And there&#8217;s nothing more visually appealing than seeing a woman (like the one above) with a nice set of abs.  And few things are more ego boosting for a guy than having ladies at the beach smile at you because you&#8217;ve got a well defined six pack.</p>
<p>As great as all this is, there&#8217;s an even more important reason to lose abdominal fat and get flat abs: your life may literally depend on it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s true. According to the research from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC), having a fat belly not only <span id="more-586"></span>increases your risk for heart disease, diabetes but also increases your risk of passing away before your time.  <em>People with the most belly fat have twice the risk of dying early than people with the least amount of belly fat</em>.</p>
<p>The risk of death increases with the size of your waist. And that&#8217;s true even if you&#8217;re considered to be normal when it comes to bodyweight.</p>

<p style="padding: 10px; background-color: #f6f6f6; border: 1px dotted navy;">&#8220;<em>The most important result of our study is the finding that not just being overweight, but also the distribution of body fat, affects the risk of premature death</em>.&#8221; &#8212; Tobias Pischon, MD, MPH, the lead author of the EPIC study</p>
<p>BTW, the study appeared in the 11/12/2008 issue of the New England Journal Of Medicine.  A later study, the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, also said waist circumference was more conclusive than BMI (body mass index) or bodyweight.</p>
<p>I really hope this makes you THINK about your life and where you stand right now (read this section again before you move on to the next one).</p>
<p><strong>So What&#8217;s Next?</strong></p>
<p>Like pretty much everything else in life, what happens next is up to you. But since you&#8217;ve stuck with me this far, here&#8217;s my advice:  you need to make some permanent changes to your nutrition.  Whether you want to get ripped abs or just a flat tight belly, the quest for them begins in the kitchen.</p>
<p>And if you&#8217;re eating cheese burgers, fries, chocolate chip cookies, pizza, soda and ice cream &#8230; you&#8217;re going to have to replace that junk with healthier more nutritious foods.  You&#8217;re also going to have to cut calories  from your daily diet to reduce body fat enough to get visible abs (be sure to check out my <a title="A Dummies Guide to Cutting Calories" href="http://sixpackabsdiet.net/cutting-calories-lose-weight-guide-for-weight-loss-dummies" target="_blank">Calorie Cutting to Lose Weight &#8211; A Guide for Weight Loss Dummies</a> article to understand why you must cut calories if you want to get lean).</p>

<p>You&#8217;re also going to need to change the way you exercise.  If you&#8217;ve been doing crunches like crazy, it&#8217;s time to stop.  Isolation movements are great for strengthening your core, but they aren&#8217;t going to get you six pack abs.  I&#8217;d much rather see you do total body exercises. They burn more calories and that&#8217;s what you want to help you become lean enough to get flat abs.<br />

In addition to being a martial arts superstar, Bruce Lee studied physiology &amp; kinesiology and was a serious expert on abs fitness.  See Bruce believed that core fitness was critical to his martial arts training. In fact, Bruce believed that you had no business doing martial arts sparing if your abs weren&#8217;t fit.</p>

<p>Many people search for exercises to burn fat from their stomach, but the real truth is that fat burning just doesn’t work like that.  <em>When you lose body fat it&#8217;s lost from the entire body</em> &#8211; not just the belly, the legs, butt, etc. No matter how many sit ups or crunches you do &#8230; you won&#8217;t burn off any fat.<span id="more-308"></span></p>
<p><strong>2.    Cardio (Done Right) Is Important</strong></p>
<p>Cardio done the right way can be very effective in helping your body burn off excess fat and boosting your metabolism. If you want to develop a  set of visibly toned abs, today&#8217;s post outlines 4 essential steps to get great abs as well as get a buffed, sexy body like the fitness model pictured to the left.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Step 1</span>: <em>Make the commitment</em>. Almost everyone wants to look good in front of the mirror and to members of the opposite sex (in as well as out of clothes).  BUT few people are willing to do what it takes to make it happen. The companies that sell these gimmicks are marketing masters. They know that people want to have better bodies, but don&#8217;t want to put in the work to get them. So they offer these &#8220;<em>lazy, get amazing visible abs while you lay in your bed</em>&#8221; solutions (there&#8217;s one being sold on TV now by a similar title &#8230; I kid you not!)</p>

<p><strong>The 3 Best Ab Exercises That Are Not Direct Ab Exercises</strong><br />

<p>Instead of the typical ab exercise routines that we see so often with crunches, situps, leg lifts, etc&#8230; I like to give my readers better options for metabolism-boosting high intensity workouts that work their entire body while also working their abs.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m going to show you an example today of one of my favorite ab workouts that doesn&#8217;t include any direct ab exercises at all. It&#8217;s in a tri-set format (similar to a super-set but alternating between 3 exercises).</p>
<p>Here goes:</p>
<p>1a. Renegade Dumbbell Rows</p>
<p>1b. Front Squats with Barbell</p>
<p>1c. Mountain Climbers on Floor</p>
<p>A good rep scheme to use with this could be 3-4 sets of 8 reps for each exercise, or more sets for less reps, such as 5 sets of 5 reps of each exercise. Mountain climbers can be done for a time interval (such as 30 seconds) instead of &#8220;reps&#8221;.</p>
<p>Renegade dumbbell rows are done starting in a pushup position with the hands on 2 dumbbells. You then row one dumbbell up while stabilizing your body with the other arm. Bring the dumbbell back to the ground and alternate the rowing arm while stabilizing with the opposite arm. This stabilizing effect during the rows creates incredible work for your entire midsection core area. Trust me&#8230; you&#8217;ll feel it in the abs!<br />
<span id="more-254"></span></p>
<p>Front squats are done similar to back squats, however with the barbell in front of your body on the front of your shoulders instead of resting on the upper back as in back squats. You stabilize the barbell on your shoulders by crossing your arms and pushing your fists into the bar against your shoulders while keeping your elbows out in front of the body. This takes a little practice at first, so you will want to seek a professional trainer at your gym to help you with the form. Front squats require extreme stabilization strength from the abs due to the barbell weight being shifted to the front of the body instead of the back. Even though this is mostly a leg exercise, you&#8217;ll feel this one in the abs big time!</p>
<p>Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup position and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are moving in under your chest and then back out to starting position. It sort of resembles climbing a mountain but flat on the floor. If you want an advanced version, you can also shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward in addition to the leg movements. This really makes it a full body exercise and MUCH more difficult than standard mountain climbers.</p>
<p>After finishing each exercise, rest about 30 seconds before starting the next exercise. Rest about 1-2 minutes after completing each &#8220;tri-set&#8221; before repeating.</p>
<p>This will give you one of the best ab workouts you&#8217;ve ever had without even doing any direct ab exercises. You&#8217;ll see what I mean after you try it!</p>

<p>1.  <strong>Helps You Lose Body Fat</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s a proven fact (based on scientific research from around the world) that physical exercise contributes to fat loss. If you burn more calories through exercise than you consume through nutrition, you&#8217;re going to lose body fat.  It&#8217;s that simple!</p>
<p>2.  <strong>Helps Reduce Risk Factors For Certain Diseases</strong></p>
<p>About 4 out of 5 deaths caused by heart disease and cancer, are linked to risk factors that include stress and lack of exercise.  It&#8217;s well known that  diabetes increases the chance for heart attacks and strokes. What this shows us, is that many of the risk factors and diseases caused by not exercising are working in together to impair your health.  To reduce these risk factors and do all you can to prevent these diseases from happening in your life, start exercising regularly.</p>
