the TRUTH about getting abs like this

Almost everyone wants know how to get toned abs.

I don’t care if you’re a teen trying to develop perfect six pack abs, a grown man wanting to get back in shape, or a woman wanting to look great again in a bikini … we all want to have great looking abs.

There are plenty of abdominal machines sold on late night infomercials and programs sold online that claim to be the master key you need to get those abs you want, but most of them are completely useless and a waste of your time (not to mention waste of money!).

And to help you avoid spinning your wheels, today’s post reveals …

5 TRUTH’s About How to Get Toned Abs

1. You Can’t Spot-Reduce

Many people search for exercises to burn fat from their stomach, but the real truth is that fat burning just doesn’t work like that.  When you lose body fat it’s lost from the entire body – not just the belly, the legs, butt, etc. No matter how many sit ups or crunches you do … you won’t burn off any fat.

2. Cardio (Done Right) Is Important

Cardio done the right way can be very effective in helping your body burn off excess fat and boosting your metabolism. But you don’t need to spend an hour doing ‘slow & steady‘ at your local gym. All you really need to do is invest 25-30 minutes of your time 3 times a week and you’ll be well on your way to improving your general level of fitness as well as getting those toned abs you want.  Running or sprinting, rowing, kick boxing or jumping rope are excellent cardiovascular work outs.

3. You Must Cut Calories to Lose Unwanted Fat

In order to lose weight you must create a caloric deficit.  If you create a caloric deficit daily you WILL lose weight. Here’s how: If you reduce your daily caloric intake by 250 calories, you should drop 1/2 a pound a week. When you throw in cardio and/or resistance training to burn off another 250 calories a day, you boost your fat loss by another 1/2 a pound. A healthy level of weight loss is about 1/2 – 2 pounds per week.

4. Sit Ups and Crunches Are Useless

A lot of people are surprised by this because we are normally taught that sit ups and crunches are great exercises for our abs. The real truth is they’re pretty useless for getting visible abs BUT perfect for strengthening your abs and lower back muscles.

5. Exercises You Should Do

Instead of sit ups and crunches, do planks, hanging leg raises (hang from a

bar and pull your knees towards your chest) and vertical knee raises.

Getting toned six pack abs isn’t as easy as the infomercials would have you believe, BUT almost anyone can develop them as long as they have the desire and determination. JUST DON’T GIVE UP! Not only will you have those sexy abs you want, but you will also have greatly improved health and fitness levels.

The Truth About Abs reveals how to finally lose that stubborn abdominal fat that stands between you and those great toned abs you want through cutting edge nutrition and the exercises you need to get your body in the best shape ever.

  • A six pack is achieved through a full body approach to training, as you said focussing on a specific are will not yield the results you desire. You must lose the weight across your entire body to reduce your body fat percentage low enough to expose your abdominals.
The key thing with cardio is that it’s the number of calories burned not the source of the fuel which is of paramount importance.

  • Good point at shedding the fat that is covering the abs…that seems to be about 80% of the battle. I have heard that Truth About Abs is a solid program…so good recommendation as well.
